EPOCH OF NEW BEGINNING IN LAWSA UNIZIK
The leadership of the law student association, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Lawsa Unizik is one best described as the cynosure of all eyes.
Yesterday, the 16th day of March 2020 the Noble faculty of law student association Unizik is known as Lawsa welcomed a new administration during her yearly Handover and inauguration ceremony of the 2020/2021 session.
Notwithstanding the lingering Asuu strike, the students of law faculty turned out in mass and cheerfully grease the ceremony.
The event started at 10am in the faculty moot Court as planned. Amongst the staff in attendance is the Dean faculty of law, in the person of Prof. M.N Umenweke, Dr. Jude U. Okoye, the Lawsa staff adviser.
The administration which handed over the mantle of leadership was lead by Comr. Akpe Chinekwu as the Lawsa president, Comr. Akwue Chisom as the Vice-president.
The mantle of leadership was transferred to the Comr. Ogoegbulem Stephen Nzubechukwu, aka #Wakanda led government and Comr. Augustine Chimamanda after their victory at the poll on the 28th day of February 2020 as the President and Vice-president respectively.
Ukwu Esther emerged as the assistant financial secretary.
The rest of the offices which include the office of the Secretary-general, Financial secretary, P.R.O et al were all unopposed.
The new executives took an oath of office whilst affirming to uphold truth, accountability, and integrity in service.
By implication, this invokes divine displeasure if the oath taker fails in his or her sworn duties.
However, the new lawsa president in his speech reaffirmed to lawsanites all that he had promised to deliver if he was elected as president on the manifesto presentation conducted on the 26th day of February 2020.
His manifesto was built on the foundation tagged *THE LEVEL-6 OBJECTIVES*
• Academic excellence
• Law in practice
• Career growth and development
• Environmental improvement
He promised to keep an open door to all and sundry in a bid to make lawsa an association that caters to the welfare and development of her members.
During his speech, he warmly appreciated everyone for their love and support all through the campaign and election hurdles.
In addition, the Vice-president of the new administration reassured the students that she has come to work and her word is her bond, and she can’t achieve it alone without the support of all lawsanites because of uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.
In her words “it’s time to light up lawsa and set her on the map.”
Nevertheless, Comr. Akpe Chinekwu who handed over the mantle of leadership with a great sense of joy appreciated God and man for successful service in presidential capacity. One of his watchwords that will remain in the mind of lawsanites is this: balance is key maintaining balance in all activities academics, politics, sports, social events amongst others.
The reward of excellent services was also awarded to persons who have distinguished themselves for good in the faculty of law.
Words of advice and encouragement were also watered down by the Dean of law faculty and the staff adviser of lawsa Unizik.
The ceremony was indeed a successful one, which ended in prayers.
The evidence of love for the new administration is seen as lawsanites are seen cheering and screaming #Wakanda, Wakanda the strength of Africa!!!
In reference to the new President.
